Privacy policy

Information we collect

• Account details: your name, email address and password when you create an account, and the phone number you give us at checkout. Your password is stored in protected form by our account provider, and we never see it.
• Booking details: the items, dates and pickup times you book, any event notes you add, and the contact details for the booking.
• Your rental agreement: the name, initials and typed signature you sign with, when you signed, and the IP address and browser you signed from, kept as a record of the agreement.
• Payment information: payments are processed by Stripe. Your card details go directly to Stripe; we never see or store your full card number. As described in the rental agreement, Stripe keeps the card you pay with on file so we can charge amounts owed under the agreement, such as for damage or late returns.
• Messages you send us: what you enter in our contact form, such as your name, email, phone number, event date and message.
• Emails from this website: a copy of each email the website sends, such as booking confirmations, payment reminders and updates to your booking, and the contact-form messages it forwards to us, so our staff can check what was sent.
• Technical information: like most websites, our hosting provider may record basic information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you request, for security and troubleshooting.

How we use it

• To take and manage your bookings, including pickups, returns, changes and cancellations
• To process payments and refunds
• To send booking confirmations and other messages about your rentals
• To reply when you contact us
• To keep a record of signed rental agreements and enforce them
• To protect the website and our customers from fraud and misuse
• To meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations

We don't sell your personal information, and we don't use it for targeted advertising.

Who we share it with

We share personal information only with the companies that help us run this website and our business, and only as much as they need to provide their service:

• Stripe, for payments
• Supabase, for our database and customer accounts
• Resend, for sending email
• Vercel, for hosting the website

We may also share information when the law requires it, to protect our rights, property or someone's safety, or as part of a sale or transfer of our business.

Cookies

We only use the cookies needed to keep you signed in. Your cart is saved in your browser's local storage so it's still there when you come back. We don't use advertising or analytics cookies, and we don't track you across other websites. Because we don't track you, your browser's “Do Not Track” setting doesn't change how this site works.

How long we keep it

We keep booking records, signed rental agreements and payment records for as long as we need them for business, tax and legal purposes. If you ask us to delete your account, we will, but we may keep records of past bookings and agreements for those purposes.

Copies of the emails this website sends are kept for one year and then deleted automatically.

Security

We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information, including encrypted connections and limiting access to our staff. No website or system is completely secure. If a data breach affects your personal information, we'll notify you as the law requires.

Your choices

You can update your name and phone number at any time from your account. To ask for a copy of your information, a correction, or deletion of your account, contact us and we'll respond within a reasonable time.

Children

This website is meant for adults. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll post the new version on this page with a new effective date.
